The Story

A problem everyone had, but nobody solved

Think about the last time you needed a plumber, an electrician, or a daily wage worker in a hurry. You probably asked a neighbour, called someone you vaguely remembered, or spent an hour scrolling through a generic job board that wasn't built for this at all.

The Hoodex team saw the same problem — millions of skilled workers in India's cities and towns with no reliable way to find work nearby, and millions of employers with no quick way to find trusted local help. Both sides were wasting time and money on a broken system.

They came to us with a clear vision: one app, for both sides. A worker opens it and finds jobs in their area. An employer opens it and finds workers they can actually reach. No middlemen. No separate platforms. Just a fast, honest marketplace for local work — built the way real people actually hire and get hired.

The Challenge

The local hiring market was completely broken

Before Hoodex, both sides of the local job market were stuck with bad options — and neither had a platform designed specifically for how they actually work.

Workers Had No Visibility

Skilled tradespeople — plumbers, electricians, painters, carpenters — had no way to advertise their availability to people looking for help right in their neighbourhood.

Employers Wasted Hours

Finding reliable local help meant calling friends, posting in WhatsApp groups, and hoping someone responded. There was no structured way to post a job and receive qualified bids.

No Single Unified Platform

Existing platforms served either job seekers or employers — never both in one place. Workers needed one app to find work, employers needed another to hire. The friction was massive.

We designed and built Hoodex from the ground up — a single, unified platform where someone can be a worker today and an employer tomorrow. The same account, the same app, just a role switch away. No reinstallation. No new login. No friction.

Use the same app as a worker or an employer. Switch roles anytime based on your need — a plumber can hire help for their own home in seconds, then switch back to taking jobs.

Real-Time Bidding System

Employers post a job. Workers in the area see it and send their bid with their price. The employer reviews bids, checks ratings, and hires — all within minutes, not days.

Hyperlocal — Your Area, Your Jobs

Location-first matching surfaces jobs and workers in the user's immediate neighbourhood. Employers don't hire across the city. Workers don't travel hours for small jobs.

Built for Real-World Hiring

Designed for daily wage workers, skilled trades, and local services. Audio/video support means even workers who struggle with typing can communicate clearly and win jobs.

Every feature in Hoodex was built around a simple question: how do people actually find work and hire locally? The answers shaped everything.

Dual-Role Platform

One account, two modes. A user can post a job as an employer on Monday and take a job as a worker on Tuesday. The platform adapts to the user — not the other way around.

Your Price, Your Terms

Workers name their price when bidding. Employers negotiate directly. There's no algorithm setting rates — real people agree on fair pay for real work, transparently.

Verified Reviews & Ratings

Every worker builds a real reputation over time. Employers review past work, check ratings, and read verified reviews before hiring — so trust is built into the system from day one.

Real-Time Job Alerts

Workers get instant notifications when a new job posts in their area. Speed matters in local hiring — the first qualified bid often wins, so real-time alerts give workers the edge.

Audio & Video Support

Not everyone communicates best through text. Hoodex supports voice and video so a worker can show a finished project or an employer can explain the job visually — removing language barriers.

Assignment Tracking

Once hired, both parties can track the assignment in real time — status updates, completion confirmation, and payment milestones, all inside the app. No chasing, no confusion.
